PED (pressure vessel calculations)

A vessel is covered by PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) when the differential pressure exceeds 0.5 barg. At Process Engineering, we offer assistance in preparing the full documentation for pressure equipment subject to the European Directive 2014/68/EU.

Our expertise in PED (pressure vessel calculations)

At Process Engineering, we calculate and document saddles, legs, skirts, and brackets for horizontally and vertically placed vessels. All types of vessels can be assessed for cyclic loads, external nozzle loads, and natural forces such as wind and seismic loads.

Our calculations are often part of the design phase. We receive basic information about the vessel and calculate the minimum required wall thickness based on standard material thicknesses available from suppliers. At the same time, we verify an already designed and specified pressure vessel to check if the design complies with PED.

We offer

We are happy to provide a non-binding price and delivery time for a defined vessel. This only requires a simple sketch showing dimensions, the number and size of nozzles, and their placement, as well as a description of the material type, pressure, temperature, natural loads, and any requirements for nozzle loads. If desired, we can specify shell and head thicknesses for preparing a quote for the end customer.
