Case story
3D conceptual design of mini dairy
The goal is to upgrade an existing mini-dairy-design by doubling the capacity, using a modular approach that allows installation in 40-foot containers. The processing setup will remain unchanged, meaning the core electrical and automation systems will stay as they are.
An overview of the required utilities is included in the project scope. Additionally, the system includes a dedicated CIP set, which needs to be upgraded to accommodate the increased capacity.

The process
Several conceptual layout designs were created to accommodate the capacity upgrade while ensuring compatibility with the 40-foot container setup. Together with the customer’s team, the most suitable layout was selected.
A high-level assessment of the required component dimension upgrades was conducted to provide a clear indication of the expected CAPEX cost increase.
To support the conceptual design, both 2D and 3D high-level sketches were developed. Additionally, a CAPEX cost estimate was prepared to reflect the impact of the increased capacity requirements.
Service and scope of the project
- Project management of the conceptual 3D design
- P&ID upgrade which can cope with the raised capacity
- 2D layout sketch, plot plan
- 3D sketch of the skids including CIP-set and filling area
- Costs estimate of the upgraded items of the item list
- Estimate of additional cost of works related to the upgrade other then item costs
- Utility consumptions list
