Process Engineering A/S welcomes new CEO

As of November 1, the engineering consultancy Process Engineering has appointed a new CEO. Founder, owner, and CEO Poul B. Jakobsen has stepped down, passing the post to Mogens Olesen.
Poul B. Jakobsen founded Process Engineering on November 1, 1999, as an engineering consultancy designed to quickly support companies in the process industry. Starting as a two-person team in a single office, the company has grown to employ around 100 people across eight offices in Denmark, Norway, and the Netherlands.
Now, the time has come to pass the baton. In connection with the company’s 25th anniversary on November 1, Poul B. Jakobsen has decided to step down as CEO. Going forward, he will take on a role as an active board member with a focus on business development.
It has been an exciting journey for me and Process Engineering over the past 25 years. Our focus has been on creating a company where employees thrive and where we have long-standing relationships with our clients. Many of our clients have been with us since those early years. Over the years, we have also focused on growth, allowing us to take on larger projects than when we were just a small team. The idea of having multiple offices around the country and abroad is to be close to our clients while also attracting skilled professionals with the right experience. We are still committed to growing and developing our business. That’s why I am stepping down as CEO to concentrate on our business development, opening new offices, expanding our existing ones, and participating in sales and networking activities.
Passing the Torch
Mogens Olesen, who has served as the company’s COO since 2020, will assume the CEO role. Nearly five years ago, Mogens was brought on to drive growth in the Danish market, allowing Poul to focus on the international market.
The past nearly five years have been a fantastic, exciting journey for me. Working side-by-side with Poul has truly developed me both personally and professionally. I’ve had the opportunity to be involved in many exciting and challenging projects across the entire process industry. The soul and DNA of Process Engineering are truly unique. This is largely thanks to Poul but also to all of our incredible employees. I have big shoes to fill, and I’m very aware of that, but I’m also very humbled by the task. Preserving and developing this soul and DNA that Poul has so carefully fostered within the company is now my responsibility, and I look forward to doing so in close collaboration with the rest of the organization. Fortunately, Poul will remain with the company, so I have a lifeline – not if, but when I need it.
