Erik Kuiper

Erik Kuiper did his Chemical Engineering, General Process Technology study in Enschede and has through his career worked in the area of supporting the process industry in getting more control and predictability on their processes. He has worked for companies such as Borkent BV/Filtrair BV, Paques B.V., Tebodin, FrieslandCampina and Teiji Aramid.

He started his career at Borkent BV/Filtrair BV in Heerenveen. This is a nonwoven manufacturer specialized in industrial air filtration. Here his initial task was to optimize and automize the production process. Followed by many roles like setting up the QA system, certification, product and process development, total traceability with IT/OT integration, customer support (a.o. Automotive, Powerplants, Food and Pharma). As a representative of the company and the Netherlands, he worked on standards with regards to the product and its use in NEN, CEN and ASHRAE-ANSI (air handling and cleaning).

Later, he got employed at Paques B.V., which is a sustainable biotech company well known for anaerobic wastewater treatment. But also active in biological gas cleaning (biogas, natural gas and flue gas), bio leaching etc. He was responsible for the engineering and start-up of the projects, the rial/scale-up facility and laboratory.

Then he was Director Industrial Projects at Tebodin, where he was involved in and responsible for improvement or expansion projects from the industry in the region of Groningen.

At FrieslandCampina he was Director of Technology and QC for the ingredients business group. Leading a group of technologists responsible for the expansion and modification projects and responsible for all the operational technology and QC of the ingredient’s locations.

For the last couple of years, he has worked for Teijin Aramid as manager for Technology and Engineering. He was responsible for operational support, process improvement, product implementation and automation (incl. ERP/PLM integration).
